MEWPs are automatic lifting machines that lift your manpower to carry out construction and maintenance activities at height. These machines are movable from one location to another location, unlike scaffolding ladders. It has a fast up & down movement so that one can quickly access the desired height. An aerial work platform can save you a significant amount of time and effort to access the height for construction and maintenance work.
Safety
MEWPs were invented for safe working of manpower at height. The lifting technology is based on hydraulics and mechanical components. The electrical components on the machine make them more ergonomically pleasing. There are multiple layers of safety to make sure that the platform doesn’t free fall or topple over. Mechanical Safety Check includes, Mechanical arm joints and pin joints. There are check valves along with each hydraulic cylinder which makes sure that the boom does not free fall in cases of loss of pressure anywhere in the hydraulic system. Electrical/Electronic sensors such as load sensors, limit switches, Force Sensing Operator Console, etc. have exponentially increased manpower safety.
